Responsibilities

  • Develop program and project proposals within the neighborhood development program, based on the established policy document of BARiO UNiCO and on the needs and wishes of neighborhoods, neighborhood organizations, and societal developments.
  • Monitors and evaluates program policies and program structure in consultation with the Program Manager.
  • Identifies, inventories, and analyzes internal and external developments.
  • Prepares multi-year plans, work plans, and program budgets in consultation with the Program Manager.
  • Leads, guides, and supports the staff of a small program team.
  • Plans, coordinates, and monitors the progress of activities and motivates, encourages, or corrects team members to ensure that tasks are carried out with the appropriate priority, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Drafts subsidy programs and 'calls for proposals' to obtain funding proposals for local neighborhood organizations, community initiatives, and NGOs.
  • Drafts subsidy and funding proposals for specific programs in order to involve a larger number of international funding partners.

Must Have

  • At least a higher professional education (HBO) in the field of social welfare or a similar field relevant to the responsibilities of the Program Coordinator.
  • Academic level thinking and working skills.
  • Knowledge of methods related to civic participation and community-based activation.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in organizing large-scale projects/programs.
  • Innovative and entrepreneurial mindset for the program.
  • Results-oriented, proactive, Empathy and flexible.
  • Solid understanding of cultural and societal developments, NGO activities, and the specific target groups of CEDE ARUBA.
  • Good knowledge of (international) funds and grant providers as well as the relevant grant and funding rules and procedures.
  • Knowledge of project-based work.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Papiamento, Dutch, English and Spanish.
  • Work experience in communication and/or the business sector is a plus.
  • Possesses a valid driver’s license (B) and has access to transportation.
